This early 20th Century American sideboard is an impressive example with its decorative details and figured veneers. The wood is likely walnut or mahogany or a combination of the two.
The sideboard reflects the Georgian Federal style in the design. The style had a revival of interest at the start of the twentieth century and the category was to remain fashionable and sought after for most of that century.
Features crossbanded cutlery drawer with a molded burl tablet and painted motifs above an arched linen drawer, flanked by a pair of crossbanded doors and fluted terminals. The tapered square legs with partial fluting surmounted by turned knopped moldings and lapet clad capitals, on turned feet.
