An Asian Chinoiserie style secretary desk, unbranded, similar in quality to Drexel. Solid wood with black lacquer & gold accents, hand painted Chinoiserie scenes, double bonnet arched top with crescent pediment & three finials, brass hardware and bracket feet. Upper cabinet has two lockable doors revealing a multitude of various size small drawers (26), eight cubbies, center two doors revealing more storage and hidden storage areas. At the base of upper cabinet are two slide out candle holders. Lower desk is slant front with pull out desk lid supports and two smaller over two larger drawers of dovetail construction. Drop down desk surface reveals a multitude of various size small drawers (11), four cubbies, center one door revealing more storage and hidden storage areas. Two piece construction. Includes one key. Likely made in the USA, in the mid 20th Century.
